Window of Opportunity

Children learn more in their first five years than at any other time in life. This is what the folks at the National Head Start Association call the “window of opportunity,” a critical time for education and development. Head Start provides aid to almost one million at-risk children each year. But in 2011, the program was in danger of losing funding.

SS+K created an original animated video called “One Window of Opportunity” to communicate the importance of investing in early childhood education. Narration is provided by Maria Shriver, daughter of Sargent Shriver, who created the Head Start program more than 46 years ago. The video has been shared with policymakers in Washington and voters around the country.
