An SS+K Labs project developed with the sole purpose of allowing people to search and browse the world of 6-second videos on Vine™. We called it VineViewer.
Early 2013, Twitter launched Vine, its video-sharing platform. It’s basically Instagram for video. As Twitter limits texts to 140 characters, it likewise constrains vines to :06 seconds.
Because Vine launched without any real way to browse its content, we built a web app that allows you to view Vine videos (called vines) by keyword or other search terms. We cleverly called it VineViewer and we had it up within a week of the Vine launch.
